Scott Storch was in The Roots before getting with Dr. Dre and getting famous.

But he left the Philadelphia band after feeling unappreciated. In a new interview, Storch accused Roots members of coming down on him for being white.

“I started in The Roots and did a lot of stuff for them. I was the guy who, again, came up with a lot of the nucleus of what that sh*t was, and I left the group and was told that I was like the Pete Best of The Roots,” Storch explained, mentioning the man who left the Beatles before they blew up.

“I’m not going to go on the road with a bunch of guys that don’t appreciate me and be like, ‘That’s the white guy who plays keys in The Roots,'” he added. “No, I’m the f*cking guy coming up with all the sh*t.”

Storch said he was on the receiving end of bigoted comments as well.

“They call me the white devil,” he alleged. “I’m like the most harmonious, loving, nonracist person ever and it just hurt me.”

The Philly raised-producer followed that up by calling The Roots haters and said they were jealous that he began working with Dr. Dre.

Any reaction to his claims?
