The Saudis just bought the PGA Tour.
But it looks like they can’t buy Lionel Messi.
Multiple sources are reporting that the soccer GOAT is turning down a $400 million a year offer to play soccer in Saudi Arabia and will instead sign with Inter Miami FC in the MLS.
The 35-year-old, whose contract with PSG in France is up, would have preferred to return to Barcelona. But the finances at the legendary Spanish club, where Messi made his mark, preclude that.
Instead, he will debut for Miami, who are last in the MLS, this summer.
While he will make a small fraction of what he could have made in Saudi Arabia, Messi likes Miami and the South Florida area and the deal will include special financial stipulations from MLS sponsors Apple and Adidas.
He will also have an option to purchase a minority share of the team.
