Power Jackson ain’t playing games with his heart on “Keep You Safe“—and that’s exactly what makes this track hit different.
The rising artist just dropped some serious knowledge about his latest single, and this ain’t your typical love song BS. Power Jackson’s talking about the real deal—that ride-or-die connection most cats only dream about.
“The inspiration behind this song was my personal experiences from past relationships that I’m definitely sure all listeners can relate to. The deep longing and desire for protection, for loyalty, for true devotion from another being,” Power Jackson explained.
Power made some interesting choices with his references, name-dropping Jhené Aiko and Big Sean as relationship goals. “If you listen to either of those artists, you will immediately recognize how open and vulnerable they truly are with their audience, just like how I make my music. I felt that they were a great example and role models for the ideology of ‘keep you safe’ as they stayed together through so many ups and downs, and stayed committed to one another after being in a relationship for nine years together.”
Don’t sleep on the deeper layers Power’s weaving into this track. Lines like “God be our only judge” aren’t just wild bars—they’re spiritual statements. “I always try to infuse some spiritual messages in all forms of my art; unconditional love and union with another being is sacred,” Power said. “This message and symbolism is unity, and I am saying to my lover that I will fuse my very life force essence with yours, so that we are eternally connected throughout the cosmos.”
Power Jackson‘s got big plans too. When asked about his artistic goals, he got philosophical: “My primary artistic goal is to inspire the entire planet and to deliver uplifting vibrations into everyone’s life on this earth.”
The bottom line? In a game full of surface-level emotions and fake flexing, Power Jackson‘s making music that actually means something. “Keep You Safe” shows what real love looks like when you’re brave enough to go there.
