The consensus on Twitter is that Ice Spice’s Y2K! album is not very good.
That shouldn’t be a surprise. Ice’s lyrics have long been derided as awkward and trite.
As for rapping skills? When Kai Cenat recently asked her to freestyle, she silently twerked.
However, Ice has a big fan in Pitchfork.
The once venerable music website gave Y2K! the highest rating of any mainstream rap album this year.
Pitchfork give Ice Spice’s ‘Y2K!’ a score of 7.6/10 making it the HIGHEST rated mainstream rap album of the year so far 😳✍️ What are your thoughts, is it one of the best albums of the year? pic.twitter.com/yHmkRmW6U1
What do you think about that?
