The COVID-19 pandemic has affected Offset and his family. The Migos rapper revealed his great uncle passed away from the coronavirus in an Instagram Stories post on Sunday (April 19).
“Smfh this corona shit done killed my great uncle,” he wrote. “Rip uncle Jerry damn man.”
In a follow-up message, Offset asked his followers to pray for his family.
Offset’s great uncle is one of the thousands of people who’ve died after contracting the coronavirus in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the COVID-19 death toll has surpassed 39,000 in the U.S. as of Monday (April 20).
Overall, the CDC has confirmed 746,625 cases of COVID-19 in the country so far.
