Brooklyn, NY – The mother of a Brooklyn teen is suing the Department of Education for $5.5 million after she says her son’s close relationship with 50 Cent made him a target for bullying.

According to the New York Daily News, the mother of 14-year-old Dan Fraser, Myasia Dickerson, filed a claim against the city accusing Williamsburg Charter High School of not taking action after Fraser was repeatedly attacked. She cites Fraser’s friendship with the Power mogul as the sole reason for the bullying.

“It caused a big uproar in the school,” Dickerson said. “The kids started to follow my son around, tried to put him on Snapchat, tried to take videos of him. They were following him to the train station.”

Last month, Fraser was on his lunch break when he was approached by four classmates who started pummeling him.

“He was attacked from behind as he tried to walk away,” Dickerson explained. “He was punched in the head and then the student proceeded to fight him and then he slammed my son’s head onto the ground.”

In another incident, a bully was following Fraser around the school. Fraser attempted to locate a security guard on the fifth floor but found no one there. Police said the kid following him ultimately “hit him in the back of his head and slammed his head into the floor of the stairwell.” However, no arrests were made.

The claim states Fraser received injures to his head and neck and also suffers from emotional and psychological trauma.

Dickerson said her son tried to find help in a classroom shortly before he was attacked, but the teacher refused to help. “The teacher told him, ‘No, I have a class right now. You can’t stay in my classroom,’” Dickerson said.

50 met Fraser in 2016. The young boy quickly earned the reputation as Fiddy’s “third son” after the veteran rapper shared several photos of Fraser to his Instagram account.

“My life is full of surprises,” 50 wrote in a since-deleted post. “This little guy is my son DAVIAN. He started crying, I was thinking why you crying i gotta pay for this shit. LMAO.”

In April 2016, 50’s rep issued a statement to E! News denying Fraser is his son.

“Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson does not have a third son,” the statement read. “However he was immediately drawn to this young boy’s story much like his own, the 10 year old is growing up under rough circumstances so he has decided to help mentor him and get him the education he deserves.”

Dickerson says Fraser hasn’t been back to school since the beatings.

“My son was hurt,” Dickerson said. “And that’s the main thing here. I should not fear for my child’s safety. He’s 14. My son is broken. It’s heartbreaking.”

A department spokeswoman said, “The alleged incident occurred at a charter school not a DOE district school. We will review any litigation papers that are filed.”

Dickerson’s attorney Sanford Rubenstein issued a statement, stating, “Parents have the right to expect a safe environment when they send their child to school. When school personnel fail to provide that, especially when they are on notice of a problem, the school is liable to that child for damages.”
