Moodymann is officially a part of the ever-expanding Grand Theft Auto Online universe.

Within the span of just a year, Moodymann has been upgraded from a novel Grand Theft Auto Online cameo to an in-game character with his own missions, plot arc, and all.

A new update to the perpetually expanding fictional world of Los Santos pulls from the Detroit DJ and house producer’s real-life passions for car culture and sound selection, casting the venerable selector as Kenny, a crucial plug in the game’s underground street racing circuit who dishes out guidance and, of course, choice (and exclusive) cuts via GTA‘s celebrated radio tuner. Naturally, there’s a catch, though. You’ll have to scour the many corners of Los Santos to unlock “Kenny’s Backyard Boogie Mix,” which hosts a number of new collaborations with Channel Tres, Nez, Gangsta Boo, and The Time’s Jessie Johnson (who has found a new home in D’Angelo‘s backing back, The Vanguard.)

The update, aptly dubbed Los Santos Tuners, is out now. And you won’t find anyone more excited about it than Moodymann himself. The Motor City house and techno specialist celebrated his formal inclusion in the game by sharing one of the mission scenes on Instagram. You can watch that below.

Los Santos Tuners is the latest in a long line of Grand Theft Auto build-outs from Rockstar Games, who recently launched their own label in CircoLoco Records with the producer as one of their first signees. Moodymann previously appeared in the Cayo Perico update to Grand Theft Auto Online, spinning at “The Music Locker,” an in-game social space and club for players, featuring a rotation of residencies from notable DJs like Giles Peterson, Flying Lotus, Diplo, and more.
