Megan Thee Stallion and Chris Rock brought in the most viewers a Saturday Night Live season premiere has seen in four years.

According to Deadline, the Saturday (October 3) premiere of SNL‘s 46th season brought in 7.765 million total viewers and a 1.68 rating among adults 18-49. Not only did it make for their most-watched season debut since 2016 (similarly, a month ahead of the presidential election), but also the second-most-watched in 12 years.

The episode introduced Jim Carrey’s Joe Biden character, and of course featured Maya Rudolph’s Kamala Harris and Alec Baldwin’s Trump.

Megan’s performance of her hit single “Savage” emphasized the Black Lives Matter movement and featured clips of Malcolm X, a message to Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron and “Protect Black women” written on the screen. Meg also performed her recently-released single “Don’t Stop” with Young Thug, and flexed her acting chops on a skit titled “Bottom Of Your Face.”

Meg’s career has been on fire as of late, as the ratings news follows the recently-announced eight nominations she received for the 2020 BET Hip Hop Awards. And of course her appearance on Cardi B’s “WAP” has proved extremely lucrative, as the song has already been certified platinum and has reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also broke the record for most streams for a song in its debut week, garnering roughly 93 million streams in the U.S.
