Mase and Diddy formed quite the team once upon a time.

Put then Mase ditched rap to become a pastor.

Looking back, Mase believes his choice to retire from the Hip Hop game saved him from the worst of Puffy, which has been spelled out in a spate of devastating lawsuits.

“Everything, now, that we see playing out was all the things that I escaped,” he said on It Is What It Is. “The car. The Shyne. The Loon. Puff Daddy. Craig Mack. Biggie Smalls. So, even though I made those decisions and it cost me money, that’s why I got with Cam, God]gave me the money back. I didn’t really lose no money. Destiny.”

Even though Mase and Puff no longer have a business relationship, The Diddler still provides Mase material for his podcast.
