Ludacris is entering the Netflix universe with an animated series called Karma’s World — executive produced by the rapper/actor himself. The streaming service giant has ordered 40 11-minute episodes of the show, which is inspired by his daughter Karma and aimed at kids between the ages of six and nine.
The coming-of-age series follows aspiring 10-year-old musician Karma Grant, and is described as a story about a young Black girl finding her voice and using it to change her world. Original songs will tackle self-esteem, body positivity, discrimination, creativity, expressing emotions and celebrating differences.
“I’ve had a lot of accomplishments in my life, but everything that I’ve experienced seems to have led up to this point to where I can leave a legacy for all my daughters,” Ludacris said in a statement. “‘Karma’s World’ is one of those legacies.”
He continues, “I hope this series will show kids that there are many ways to overcome difficult situations. This show is going to move Hip Hop culture forward, and show young girls that they have the power to change the world. This project has been a long time in the making and I can’t wait to bring Karma’s World to the entire world.”
The series is being produced by Luda’s production company Karma’s World Entertainment, alongside 9 Story Media Group’s Oscar-nominated studio Brown Bag Films. No release date has been announced yet.

Ludacris’ involvement in the Fast & Furious franchise is still going strong. In July, Luda hinted the upcoming Fast & Furious 9 movie might take place in space in an interview on The Jess Cagle Show.
“I will say that you are very intuitive, because you said something right, but I’m not going to give it away,” while on the topic of space. “I don’t know. I don’t know what you said.”
F9 was originally set to arrive on May 22 this year, but has been pushed back to May 28 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the music side of things, Luda has released three singles in 2020: “SexBeat” featuring Usher and Lil Jon, “S.O.T.L. (Silence of the Lambs)” featuring Lil Wayne, and most recently “Found You” featuring Chance The Rapper in September.
He also faced off against Nelly in an epic Verzuz battle on Instagram Live in May, and revealed he wants to collaborate with Eminem on a song just days after.
“I did collaborate with Notorious B.I.G., but it was a posthumous album so I wasn’t able to actually collaborate with him while we was alive,” he said. “2Pac, I’d love to collaborate with, but if we saying alive? I haven’t done a track with Eminem yet and that’s on my list. The world needs a Ludacris and Eminem record for sure.”
