Snoop Dogg emerged the accidental victor in the Roy Jones Jr. versus Mike Tyson fight when he stepped in for Lil Wayne and provided his colorful commentary throughout the event. In fact, fans are so impressed by Snoop’s natural talent when it comes to commentating, they think he should do it professionally, which would add yet another hyphen to his already diverse title.

It appears the D-O-Double-G doesn’t think that’s a bad idea either. On Sunday (November 29), he shared an Instagram post calling on ESPN, Fox Sports and NBA on TNT to offer him a three-year contract worth millions.

“Here’s who won tonight: Snoop Dog, hands down,” the post reads. “Someone sign @SnoopDogg to a multi-year contract. He’s a natural commentator. He’s Barkley on steroids. He’s hilarious! 3 years for $15 million? Who’ll make the call?”

If Snoop were to become a professional boxing commentator, he’d follow in the footsteps of Jim Lampley, Howard Cosell, Al Bernstein, Teddy Atlas, Harry Carpenter and Michael Buffer. Buffer, who came up with the famous catchphrase “Let’s Get Ready To Rumble” in 1982, is worth a reported $400 million.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Buffer earns between $25,000 and $100,000 every time he utters those five words, depending on the match. On a handful of rare occasions, Buffer has been paid $1 million.

Needless to say, there’s some serious money to be made in the boxing commentator world — and Snoop is raring to go.
