Lil Wayne dropped No Ceilings 3 by surprise on Friday.
This weekend’s crop of new releases featured a surprise appearance from Lil Wayne. On Friday, he dropped the third installment of the No Ceilings series, with a little help from DJ Khaled. The project features guest appearances from Drake, Young Thug, and more.
No Ceilings 3 is Wayne’s first release since his controversial endorsement of Donald Trump, and from the looks of things, it seems like he’s taking the backlash in stride. On the new track “Life is Good,” over Drake and Future’s track of the same title, Wayne makes a passing mention of his meeting with the president. Stream the track below.
“Working out my demons, that’s beautiful,” he says. “And bae off of that riesling, she super loose/I smoke it, she say pass it, she doing too much/Haven’t done my taxes, fucking with Trump.”
Wayne hasn’t spoke publicly about the election since Joe Biden was announced as the president-elect. On Monday afternoon, Arizona state leaders certified their election results, giving Biden the state’s 11 electoral votes. The state has been projected as a winning ground for Biden for the last three weeks, despite Trump’s protests and lawsuits.
In a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, 50 Cent revealed Trump’s campaign offered him up to $1 million to perform at his inauguration in 2016. He believes Wayne was paid to endorse Trump in the days leading up to the election. [It was] $500,000,” 50 said, “then it went up to $1 million while I was still confused with whether I should do it.”
