Kendrick Lamar Reveals He’s Working On His Last Album With TDE
Kendrick Lamar shared the news Friday afternoon.
Kendrick Lamar has revealed that he’s working on his last album with Top Dawg Entertainment.
The rapper shared the news on a website called “oklama.com.” Upon going to the website and clicking on a folder titled “nu thoughts,” the site then takes visitors to an entry Lamar wrote, where he offers an update on his life, including that his last album as a part of TDE, the label he has been with since the mid-2000s, is in the works. The statement can be read in its entirety below.

I spend most of my days with fleeting thoughts. Writing. Listening. And collecting old Beach cruisers. The morning rides keep me on a hill of silence.
I go months without a phone.
Love, loss, and grief have disturbed my comfort zone, but the glimmers of God speak through my music and family.
While the world around me evolves, I reflect on what matters the most. The life in which my words will land next.
As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.
There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown.
Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all.
See you soon enough.

It’s unknown when the project will be coming out, but considering he ended the entry with “See you soon enough,” it could be on its way sooner rather than later. Prior to this announcement, Lamar had unveiled his at service company pgLang. Describing itself as a “community” that will tell stories through “music, film, television, art, books, and podcasts” when it was first announced last year, pgLang has released short films in collaboration with Calvin Klein, as well as the music video for Baby Keem’s “Durag Activity” music video. Maybe the rapper will now be dedicating most of his time to pgLang following the release of his last TDE album. Lamar’s most recent solo release with TDE was 2017’s Damn.
TDE boss Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith has since responded positively to Lamar’s statement.
