Black Hippy was a supergroup consisting of Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, and ScHoolboy Q, who were all signed to TDE during the group’s formation.

They performed as a collective on 14 tracks between 2008 and 2016 but never dropped an album together.

They broke up in 2022 when Kendrick left TDE.

On K. Dot’s new track, “heart pt. 6”, he explains what went wrong.

“Black Hippy didn’t work because of me; creatively I moved on with new concepts in reach,” he rapped.

Is that a shame?
