Kelis’ Netflix Cannabis Cooking Show Dropping On 4/20

Kelis has teamed up with Netflix to bring 4/20 friendly viewers a six-episode cannabis-themed cooking show Cooked With Cannabis.

Co-hosted by chef Leather Storrs, the duo will judge three professional chefs on a three-course cannabis-infused meal worth a $10,000 grand prize. To add, each season will include rotating special dinner guests including Ricki Lake, Too $hort, and Run The Jewels’ El-P.

Kelis wrote on Instagram, “As a chef, I was intrigued by the food and as an everyday person, I was interested in how powerful this topic is in today’s society. In this country, many things have been used systematically to oppress groups of people, but this is so culturally important for us to learn and grow together.”

I'm really excited to announce my new show, Cooked with Cannabis on @Netflix!! Anyone that knows me, knows how much I love my Netflix, so this is a dream come true. Interestingly, this was one of those things that I didn't go looking for, it kind of came to me. As a chef, I was intrigued by the food and as an everyday person, I was interested in how powerful this topic is in today's society. In this country, many things have been used systematically to oppress groups of people, but this is so culturally important for us to learn and grow together. The 20th-anniversary reissue of her debut album Kaleidoscope was announced last month by Kelis, but due to COVID-19 public health concerns, it has been postponed indefinitely.
