The fallout from Megan Thee Stallion naming Tory Lanez as her shooter is starting to affect the Canadian collaborations — on the R&B side of things.

On Thursday (August 20), hours after Megan’s revelation on Instagram Live, singer JoJo confirmed with fans as well as Billboard that Tory would be removed from her upcoming re-release of Good To Know on August 28. The two collaborated on the song, “Comeback.”

“Def took him TF off,” JoJo tweeted in response to a fan’s speculation regarding her and Tory’s much-loved collaboration.

JoJo continued to profuse love and light to Megan following the reveal, even indulging a fan’s suggestion of the “WAP” rapper replacing Tory on the deluxe edition of “Comeback” instead.

“LOVE RESPECT AND PEACE AND PROTECTION TO @theestallion,” JoJo wrote.

The move follows Kehlani‘s decision to scrub Tory from the upcoming deluxe edition of It Was Good Until It Wasn’t.

“full transparency cuz i believe in that with my following, his verse is still on the song, the video is solo. new verse on the deluxe,” Kehlani told fans on July 29.

The Los Angeles District Attorney is pondering whether or not to charge Tory with felony assault for his role in the July 12 incident which left Megan hospitalized.

Chance The Rapper Comes To Megan Thee Stallion’s Defense After Tory Lanez Incident

The decision by both R&B singers to remove Tory from singles is a stark contrast to how Megan’s male peers in Hip Hop have handled the controversy. Pundits such as Chalamange Tha God have disparaged the Chixtape artist but few male rappers have come to Megan’s defense.

Chance The Rapper tweeted support for the Houston rapper on Saturday (August 25), hoping she get proper retribution following the whole ordeal.

“I hope Meg really gets justice for what Tory did to her,” Chance wrote. “And that we can all learn from this, how near and constant and serious, the threat of lethal violence and abuse is for every Black woman.”
