New York, NY – Like most of the world, the ever-outspoken Joe Budden has been quarantined for months in an attempt to dodge the coronavirus and keep other people safe. Of course, that hasn’t stopped him from sharing his opinions.

During a recent Instagram Live conversation with Lupe Fiasco, The Joe Budden Podcast host discussed what it was like living in New York City, the epicenter of the virus.

“I’m actually abiding by what they’re telling us to do, which is stay in the house,” he said. “New York is fucked up,” agreeing his giant beard makes it look like he hasn’t been outside in “decades.”

He later added, “We’ll bounce back. It’s just gon’ be a slow, slow process. I believe all this shit is some form of population control anyway.”

According to the latest report from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there are over 336,000 cases in the Big Apple and over 27,000 deaths. In the United States alone, over 1.3 million cases have been confirmed and over 82,000 people have died.

Despite the sobering statistics, many states have started their reopening phases against the advice of infectious disease experts. On Monday (May 11), New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the first phase of reopening begins on Friday (May 15).

The state’s official government website explains phase one includes industries such as construction, agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting, retail (limited to curbside or in-store pickup or drop off), manufacturing and wholesale trade
