Seattle-based musician Igor Keller, is preparing for an upcoming release — a brand new album, The Merry Blacksmith’s Song Bucket, arriving October 31.

Even after decades of creating, Igor Keller’s curiosity hasn’t faded. His upcoming single “Monster Zero” will offer a glimpse of what’s coming next with a sound that’s both experimental and playful.

“I’ve always loved old monster movies, especially Godzilla vs. Monster Zero,” Keller shares. “So I decided to create my own version,” shares Keller.

From Word Gets Around to The Merry Blacksmith’s Song Bucket

Keller began recording the new album shortly after finishing his previous project, Word Gets Around, keeping his creative spark alive.

What’s even more exciting is that The Merry Blacksmith’s Song Bucket also features Keller’s first-ever use of a vocoder, bringing modern sound and nostalgic feeling to his art.

Released earlier this year, Word Gets Around showed why Igor Keller remains one of Seattle’s most inventive voices. It’s full of witty, and honest songs that make ordinary life sound extraordinary. An excellent example is the song Yelltown that draws inspiration from his Seattle neighborhood.

Word Gets Around is a reflection on creativity in the modern era. Igor Keller challenges the growing role of technology in art, reminding listeners that emotion and instinct still matter more than algorithms.

The Evolution of Longboat

Longboat continues to be Igor Keller’s creative home — a space where he experiments freely and grows with each project. Though collaborators appear occasionally, the spirit of Longboat remains deeply personal and true to his artistic identity.

With The Merry Blacksmith’s Song Bucket, Igor Keller once again will redefine what independent music can be: honest, and endlessly curious.
