Ice Cube was none too happy when Kanye West brought up his name on Drink Champs last year.
It was around the time that Ye was going on a bunch of anti-Semetic rants.
âYou know, Cubeâs really set me up for this,â said Ye, while also saying the West Coast rapper âreally influencedâ him to âget on this antisemite vibe.â
Cube later responded.
âI hate that my name was dragged into this Drunk Champs bullsh*t,â he tweeted at the time. âI donât know what Ye meant by his statements, youâre gonna have to ask him. I didnât put the batteries in his back. Please leave my name out of all the antisemitic talk. Iâm not antisemitic and never have been.â
On Monday, July 17, while speaking to Piers Morgan on Sky News Australia, Cube was asked about Ye mentioning his name. [Jump to the 5:05-mark]
âHe spoke my name without really explaining what he meant, and I just really couldnât leave that statement out there,â he explained. âI had to kind of rebut that ⊠Since then, weâve talked. I think Ye understands that generalizing will always get you in more hot water than being very specific.”
