DaBaby and Roddy Ricch did an epic interpretation of their epic no. 1 single “ROCKSTAR.”

Even after all of these years, rappers still want to be “rock stars.”

DaBaby and Roddy Ricch performed their hit number one hit “ROCKSTAR” at the 2021 Grammys. DaBaby did a creative spin on the record: he was joined by an epic opera choir. (We are surprised they didn’t go the rock route.)

“ROCKSTAR” is a smash song. The song, which is the second single from DaBaby’s third album Blame It on Baby, went no. 1 and spent seven non-consecutive weeks at the top spot. This was also the first no. 1 for DaBaby. As for Roddy Ricch, it was his second no. 1 after “The Box.”

Before DaBaby hit the stage, the rapper revealed that he asked JoJo Siwa from Dance Moms to perform with him. Last month, DaBaby dropped his freestyle “Beatbox” remix where he randomly dissed her. It seems like they are cool now. He told Entertainment Tonight:

“We’re 1000% JoJo Siwa fans. We love her, we actually reached out to see if she wanted to perform with me at the Grammys… But I heard she’s somewhere working on a project of her own.”

DaBaby was nominated for six Grammys this evening. “Rock Star,” the biggest song of DaBaby’s career, got three nominations, including Best Rap Song, Best Rap/Sung Performance, and Record of The Year. If “ROCKSTAR” picks up a statue it will be the first of Roddy and DaBaby’s career.

Check out the performance below.
