Homestead, FL-based rapper-songwriter GenoDa1 recently released several singles as well as an EP. The singles released are “Tell Me” FT Fedarro, “Someone Else,” “Cream Of The Crop Freestyle” FT Zues, “Level Up” and the EP 3AM Sessions. The powerhouse tracks include some extremely impactful freestyles like “Cream Of The Crop Freestyle” FT Zues. With 10,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, GenoDa1 is proving to be an extremely prolific artist who constantly pushes his own boundaries as well as the genre’s rigid classifications. His sharp impro and freestyling skills are a clear sign of his unusual talent.

Born in 1992, GenoDa1 went through some difficult times while growing-up, experiencing homelessness, sleeping in cars and homeless shelters while going to high school. He lived in the rough South Miami Dade county neighborhood until the age of 17 years old. His father was an alcoholic, a pill addict, and had an abusive relationship with his son. GenoDa1’s mother worked three jobs while GenoDa1 himself took care of his niece and nephews, making sure they went to school. He also played basketball from 9 years old until his junior year when he quit basketball at a time when he felt he didn’t love the game anymore. He also went to Santa Monica college in Los Angeles.

The accomplished rapper-songwriter transcends genres while sharing personal stories through the medium of rap, a craft he clearly excels at. This year, he’s been dropping joint after joint, some featuring collaborations with other producers such as Fedarro and some solo projects, raising the momentum as we expect a major breakthrough by this prodigy in 2021.
