Future is giving back to 2020 high school graduates impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in his home state of Georgia. The Freebandz boss has announced he’ll be awarding scholarships to incoming college freshmen through his FreeWishes Foundation’s “Still A Dreamer” campaign.

“You don’t have to be in the perfect situation or come from the perfect background to reach for your dreams,” he said in a press statement. “Despite this COVID-19 pandemic, I encourage all dreamers to continue to dream big.”

Future’s mother and FreeWishes co-founder Stephanie Jester added, “We acknowledge that many families have been financially impacted by COVID-19. As we fast forward into this new climate we would like to continue to make dreams come alive and wishes come true.”

Applicants are required to submit a video essay explaining how they were affected by COVID-19 and why they’re “still a dreamer.” A panel of judges will review the entries, which can be submitted up until July 27 at 3 p.m. Eastern.

To apply for the scholarship, students must be 2020 high school graduates and residents of Georgia. They’re also required to have a 3.0 GPA or above, be enrolled in a college or university for the upcoming fall semester and have proof of involvement in community service.

The maximum scholarship award is $2,500. Potential applicants and their families can find more information here.
