French Montana is reaping the TikTok benefits. After his song “Cold” with Tory Lanez saw a boost on the app thanks to a new dance challenge, the New York rapper hopped on Instagram to celebrate.
“ALL I KEEP SEEING DOWN MY TIMELINE,” he wrote. “SHOUTOUT TO WHOEVER MADE THIS DANCE up IM LOOKING FOR U FOR THE REAL VIDEO @frenchmontana @torylanez COLD LETS KEEP THE PEOPLE DANCING THROUGH CARONA
#coldchallenge vs. #spinaroundtheblockchallenge.”
It sounds like French hasn’t found the originator yet, but that person is in line for a major opportunity assuming they step forward. The “Unforgettable” rapper posted another video minutes later featuring a masked dancer contorting himself in an empty lot.
French must be thrilled at the song’s early success after the month he’s had on social media. The internet was at his throat for his Kendrick Lamar claims and “Unforgettable” origin story. Not to mention, Fivio Foreign recently called him out as he feels French is “using” his new signee Mr. Swipey for clout in the drill community.
“Cold” is French’s second single of 2020, following April’s “That’s a Fact.” Tory Lanez has also been busy, releasing the 16 track The New Toronto 3 along with several singles and features.
The song dropped on May 1, about a month after French and Tory went hit for hit on Instagram Live. Listen to “Cold” below.
