Reason was one of the few rappers who sided with Drake when Kendrick Lamar and the rest came down on The Boy.
What made that notable was Reason was on TDE, Kendrick’s old label.
Reason is no longer on TDE.
According to Reason, he used the Kendrick-Drake situation to get out of his TDE deal, which he felt had run its course.
âThe only fans I really lost were fans that I shot myself in the foot with but I had to do that to get out of the label deal. When the Dot and the Drake beef started, I felt like Top and them were kinda dragging their feet a little bit. I donât think purposely, I think they just had a lot of sh*t going on. And I knew that if I sparked a fire a little bit, that theyâd be like, âWe gotta separate from this.â So I started tweeting sh*t on the side of Drake purposely,” Kendrick explained on to Bootleg Kev. “So thereâs fans that hate me for that.â
Reason and TDE officially split last summer.
