J. Cole’s mixtape Might Delete Later came flying out of the gate, with early projections for a first week of 140 -160K, strong numbers for a surprise tape with no promo.

It ended up doing only 118K.  That drop will cost Cole number one, which will instead go to the second week of Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter with 132k.

Do you think the drop-off was because Cole apologized a couple of days after Might Delete Later dropped for its track “7 Minute Drill”, on which he had dissed Kendrick Lamar?

And do you think this will also affect the sales of his upcoming album, The Fall Off?
