At one time, Fetty Wap had the music game buzzing and looked to be Hip Hop’s next superstar in late 2014, but he’s since lost that momentum in the subsequent years for a multitude of reasons. The New Jersey rhymer fired back in an Instagram comment earlier this week in response to a fan explaining why he fell off and his plans to once again become a force in rap.

“Bad business managers… greed and selfishness… but it’s almost over,” he wrote before detailing how he’s turned a new leaf and built a different team to get on the right path to mount his 2021 comeback.

Fetty confidently continued, “I got rid of all that goofy shit around me. Now I can focus on the music .. and I’m goin tf up just watch.”

The relatively unknown 23-year-old stormed out of the gates in 2014 and released his self-titled album in 2015, supported by top 40 singles “Trap Queen,” “679,” “My Way,” which received a remix from Drake and “Again.” The slurry romantic anthem “Trap Queen” went on to reach No. 2 on the Hot 100 and received a pair of Grammy nominations.

Fetty is still keeping busy releasing projects in 2020, but his music isn’t having much of any impact on the Billboard charts like it once did. His most recent Hot 100 appearance came in 2018 when he assisted on 6ix9ine’s “Keke.”

Fetty dropped You Know The Vibes last Friday (December 11) featuring frequent Remy Boyz collaborator Monty and Styles P via 300 Entertainment and RGF Productions.
