Drake let fans knowing he’s dealing with a significant knee injury, posting a photo of himself laid up in bed wearing a knee brace on Friday (October 30).

The OVO superstar initially shared the picture via Instagram Stories with the message “New challenged unlocked,” but he deleted it and reuploaded the pic to provide a motivational caption.

“I actually want to use this post to send love and motivation to anybody else that 2020 let loose on,” he wrote. “Start writing the best bounce back story NOW.”

Although Drake was dealt a bit of bad luck in the final months of 2020, he won’t have to worry about his knee hindering him from missing any shows. With the COVID-19 pandemic still in full effect, artists have been unable to tour.

Fans will be getting some new music from Drizzy in a few months though. Last week, the multi-platinum selling artist announced his Certified Lover Boy album is scheduled to drop in January 2021.

Drake didn’t set a specific release date, but it’s possible the LP could arrive right at the beginning of the month. New Year’s Day (January 1) falls on a Friday, which means Certified Lover Boy could be part of the first New Music Friday of 2021.

Certified Lover Boy won’t drop until next year, but Drake already released a Nike capsule collection of apparel for the project. The merch quickly sold out, so fans who didn’t already purchase the items will have to hope for a restock.
