Miami, FL – As the COVID-19 pandemic wages on, millions of people are struggling to simply make ends meet. Even with the paltry $600 stimulus checks, many will be left wondering how to pay their rent next month.

But on Tuesday (December 29), Diddy did his best to extend a helping hand to hundreds of Miami residents, handing out $50 bills, grocery store gift cards and hygiene bags. According to NBC6 South Florida, the Hip Hop mogul showed up in the Overton neighborhood wearing a clear face guard and black gloves, ready to make a difference. Diddy’s charitable organization, The Sean Combs Foundation, is also working with local promotor Michael Gardner, Teens Exercising Extraordinary Success (T.E.E.S.), Headliner Market Group and Miami Dade County Commissioner Keon Hardemon to provide rental assistance for 175 families.

Diddy, who owns a home in the sprawling Florida metropolis, has an extensive history of charitable deeds. In 2003, he ran the New York marathon to raise funds to the city’s public schools and wound up with $2 million for his chosen charity. Then in 2016, Diddy gave $1 million to the School of Business at Howard University for scholarships for undergraduate business majors and internships with his companies.

He’s also supported the American Foundation for AIDS Research, Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Children’s Hope Foundation, Elton John AIDS Foundation and the Hip Hop Summit Action Network, among others.

As Diddy closes out 2020, he was also forced to cancel his annual New Year’s Eve party due to COVID-19. He made the announcement via Twitter earlier this week, writing, “In efforts to keep everyone safe and healthy… Unfortunately we are not having a NYE party this year! I hope everyone had a blessed holiday and wish you all the best for the new year!”
