Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” has been used for numerous things since its August release. The No. 1 hit may have found a purpose even more people can get behind as we endure yet another month of the COVID-19 pandemic: advocacy for wearing masks.

On Thursday (September 3), actress Kerry Washington shared a photo of Cardi and Megan from the “WAP” video with both women wearing superimposed blue surgical masks along with their pink and yellow gowns.

“WAP until further notice,” the actress wrote on Twitter.

Cardi of course couldn’t help but laugh at the post.

The latest flip of “WAP” comes as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the United States. As of September 6, there have been 6.26 million confirmed cases in the U.S. with 188,000 deaths.

Cardi’s advocacy for rocking a mask during the pandemic isn’t the only arena she’s using her voice to be an agent of change. The Bronx rapstress is partnering with her label, Atlantic Records to help individuals vote for the upcoming 2020 presidential election.

“Let me tell you something: state deadlines are coming very quick,” she said in a PSA for the initiative. “So make sure y’all click the link in the bio so y’all can register to vote.”
