Boldy James will soon release his fourth album of the year.

Since signing with Griselda Records earlier this year, Detroit MC Boldy James has been on a tear. This year alone, he’s dropped The Price of Tea in China with The Alchemist, Manger on McNichols with Sterling Toles, and The Versace Tape with Jay Versace. On Wednesday, Boldy announced he’s not done just yet.

On December 11, Boldy’s dropping Real Bad Boldy with design executives-turned-production group Real Bad Man. Boldy’s already appeared on one of their multi-volume compilation series On High Alert earlier this year, alongside Roc Marciano, Pink Siifu, Kool Keith and Inspectah Deck.

Boldy also dropped the first single from the project, “Thousand Pills.” The track features Griselda affiliate Stove God Cooks. Stream the full track below.

Before the signing, Boldy had released just two projects in seven years. In an interview with Okayplayer from August, he spoke about catching a second wind.

“I was out here back hustling and back in the same bag that I was trying to hop out of,” he said, “when I didn’t realize that the music was actually just an opportunity for me to put myself in better positions. But I’m an artist, first and foremost, so I never cared about positioning, or the money, or the accolades I would receive for music. I just wanted to put out true art. I wanted to put our real art.”

His 2020 run is evidence of just that. Find “Thousand Pills” on all major digital streaming platforms.
