Bobby Shmurda has been behind bars since 2014 for charges stemming from his involvement in the GS9 gang. He was ultimately sentenced to seven years in prison with a projected release date of December 11, 2021. But according to an Instagram post from the No Jumper podcast, his conditional release date suggests he’ll be getting out 10 months ahead of schedule.

The post arrived on Monday (January 4) and included a screenshot of court documents suggesting a February 2021 release. The caption read, “According to new reports, #BobbyShmurda may be getting a conditional release next month on February 23rd. If released, he will be monitored until his previous release date of December 11, 2021.”

Shmurda, his brother Jayese and several other alleged gang members were charged in a 69-count indictment, which included murder, attempted murder, dealing drugs and weapons possession. In 2016, he pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to possess weapons and possession of a weapon and was sentenced to seven years but eventually got it reduced to just five.

Shmurda soon attempted to withdraw his plea, claiming his attorney “forced” him to take it but was shot down. Last September, his request for parole was also denied. Shmurda has racked up at least 11 violations while in prison — from drug possession to using a shank during a fight, which presumably played a role in the Board’s decision.

Fellow GS9 member Rowdy Rebel, who was arrested in the RICO case alongside Shmurda, was released from prison last month. He’d been locked up in New York’s Ogdensburg Correction Facility since 2016.
