The program details the journey of Cash Money Records from preface to now, starting with the Williams brothers’ early successful hustles in New Orleans, to their part in launching some of rap’s hugest artists like Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Drake. New Cash Order also spotlights some of their current talents like Jacquees and Blueface and even introduces the next generation of Cash Money, such as Young Juve, Lacro$$e, DeeMic, and Jay Lewis.

“It wasn’t that hard joining Cash Money because we all grew up around Cash Money, so I was used to it” Young Juve, who is the son of Cash Money great Juvenile, shared with RealStreetRadio. “I’m not following in the same steps as my dad … my sound is totally different from his.”

The mini-documentary took approximately eight months to complete according to Spotify’s project manager, Dzifa Yador. “It was extremely humbling to work on the New Cash Order docu-series with such a hard-working team like Cash Money. Their work ethic and eye for developing superstars is why they’ve been in the game for 25 years and will continue on for another 25 years.”

Yador went on to tell DX, “To be in the company of Monte and Avery [Lipman] of Republic Records, Baby and Slim of Cash Money and the artists included in the doc was a true testament to just how much love there is in the Hip Hop community for Cash Money, as they pioneered the success of many of the artists we love and listen to today.”

Although the past few years at Cash Money Records have had its ups and downs, the legacy continues to go unblemished.
