On Sunday, Ari Lennox tweeted that she wanted off Dreamville Records and Interscope, also proclaiming that she’d never do another interview.

The past few months have been rough for Ari Lennox. Two months after being arrested at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, the vocalist fired off on Twitter Sunday afternoon, asking to be dropped from Dreamville Records and Interscope Records.

“I want to be dropped from the labels. I’m done and tired.” Lennox tweeted.

A fan then responded to Lennox, alleging that she was being oversensitive and “folding” after a suggestive interview on Podcast and Chill with host Macgyver’ MacG’ Mukwevho. The South African podcast host made a sexually-charged pass at Lennox, who appeared visibly uncomfortable but tried to laugh off the question. Mukwevho, who HipHopDX says is known for his controversial takes, claimed that Lennox first made the sexual reference in “Pop” from her 2019 full-length debut Shea Butter Baby.

“Shut up! The interview was the icing on the cake. I want to be free,” Lennox then responded to the fan, two days after swearing off interviews in a now-deleted tweet.

“And I’m never doing another interview again,” she tweeted “I been on this sober high for weeks. Genuine gratefulness and happiness. But then… men. Every time… never fails.”

Last week, Dreamville congratulated the First Lady of Dreamville for being nominated for Outstanding Female Artist of the Year at the upcoming NAACP Image Awards, but Lennox isn’t in a celebratory mood.

“For Christ sakes, I realize I have no hits. I realize you all can live without hearing my music. I realize my complaining is so aggravating to y’all. I don’t ask blogs to post me when I’m at my worst. You judgemental [sic] self hating parasites wouldn’t last a day as a signed artist, Lennox tweeted. “Complaining that I’m complaining about the shit I’m going through meanwhile in real life you’re just as unhappy just as fucked up. You crying in the car too. Somebody calling you insensitive and dramatic too. You could never be honest about your demons.”

The singer also sounded off on disgruntled fans and critics, saying that social media was a toxic place for her.

“sm is a traumatizing unhealthy place. You are only accepted here if your perfect and seemingly happy at all times. When every single life knows that’s not realistic. People cry, people complain, people are mad in real life. I just never cared to be a fake ass bitch,” she tweeted.

“No one is ‘bullying me’ into deleting my tweets. I had enough of giving clout to losers,” she added. “And sometimes I just like a clean slate. I’ve been this way all my life. And when I said I felt like this was my karma. I’m aware I’ve said some incredibly insensitive and dumb ass shit in the past. No need to keep reminding me of the regret I feel every day.”
