Andre 3000 hasn’t done a lot of rapping over the last fifteen years.
But he did drop a verse on the 2021 Kanye track, “Life of The Party”.
As Andre told the New York Times, the only reason the verse saw the light of day is that Drake — who was beefing with Ye at the time — leaked it. Â If he hadn’t, the verse would have been scrapped because of a policy against profanity that Ye briefly held.
André 3000 says he asked Kanye to remove his verse from ‘Life of the Party’ because Kanye wouldn’t allow curse words on Donda 👀
He thanks Drake for leaking the song, which gave it a chance to be heard.

“Drake got a hold of the song before Kanye could put it out. Â And Drake released it on his radio show,” Andre said. Â “What people don’t know is that at that point, Kanye and I really weren’t in agreement of how the song would be released. Â I’m not sure if it was even going to come out. Â So I don’t know if Drake found the song was not going to come out and was just saying ‘I’m going to put it out.’ Â Because it was a thing about Kanye was at a point in his life because he didn’t want any curse words on the album. Â And I said, yeah I’m fine without no curse words but take me off the song because I had written it in a certain way. Â And I was cool with beeped version, but you have to put the dirty version out and he didn’t want to put a dirty version out. Â He said I told me daughter I would not have any curse words on this album. Â And I said, OK take me off. Â And we weren’t in agreement, so finally Drake puts it out. Â So kinda have to thank Drake for letting that song see the light of day.”
