For example, French Montana once said that he bought him a fake Hublot watch back in the day.
The “Smack That” crooner also admitted that he used to lie about being an African Prince since he used to live in Senegal.
Now, Akon is explaining why he wore a fake Dior outfit during his recent Drink Champs interview.
Some, like the artist Symba, noticed immediately that his jacket said “Drio,” not Dior, and Akon got clowned.
But he has a reason for wearing the jacket, which he explained to French Montana, and it has to do with drumming up conversation.
“I knew that sh*t was going to raise engagement,” Akon explained. “It just takes for one person to notice, and it’s gon’ go crazy on the internet … It sure did exactly what we wanted it to.”
