Four and a half years after its Valentine’s Day 2016 release, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie‘s debut mixtape Artist has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry of America.

Reacting to the news in a post on Monday (September 28), A Boogie reflected on the achievement and thanked his fans for helping him get there.

“Artist just went platinum,” he wrote with a piano emoji. “Thanks to all my Day 1 fans for helping me get where I am today it’s been a real crazy run for me especially knowing the fact that I used to be a nobody just a kid from the Bronx. I learned a lot on this Journey and I can’t wait to show you all what I’m making out of it. Nothing but Love and blessings I hope everyone is staying safe. keep on being great.”

Released on SoundCloud at the time, the 13-track tape didn’t boast any of the A-list features the Bronx native has been able to get since his fame skyrocketed shortly after, but it did include his breakout single, “My Shit.”

On the tape’s four year anniversary earlier this year, A Boogie released its sequel as a studio album, Artist 2.0. Featuring a combined 29 songs with a later-released deluxe version, guest appearances included Young Thug, Roddy Ricch, Gunna, DaBaby, Lil Uzi Vert and more.
