Fans continue to wait for Rihanna’s ninth album, but they’ll have to settle for a new Savage X Fenty collection instead. On Wednesday (January 1), RiRi introduced her lingerie brand’s first collaboration with fashion designer Adam Selman, which will include a Valentine’s Day capsule and additional drops through April.
“I couldn’t imagine anyone other than Adam for Savage X Fenty’s first designer collaboration,” Rihanna said in a press statement. “Adam is everything the brand stands for – fun, playful, sexy.”
Selman told InStyle the collection was inspired by ’80s lingerie.
“I wanted to do something that was still in the spirit of Savage X Fenty, but give them an offering they didn’t have already,” he said. “I went almost as girly and lovey, lovey, lovey as possible, and then I made it super sexy to counteract that.”
This isn’t the first time Selman and Rihanna have worked on fashion together. He famously designed Rihanna’s crystal sheer dress, which she wore to the 2014 CFDA Awards.
“Rihanna is amazing because she’s one of the few people who can look at a sketch and realize what it would translate into,” he noted. “I came to her with a lot of ideas, inspirations and sketches for each of those inspirations.”
The capsule is currently available to buy on SavageX, Amazon, ASOS and Zalando. It comes in a wide range of sizes.
