Fatman Scoop collapsed yesterday during a performance in Hamden, Connecticut.

This morning, it was announced he had passed away at age 53.

No cause of death as of yet, but his manager said he drank an energy drink he hadn’t consumed before before his set

Scoop was known for his features on the  2005 singles “Lose Control” by Missy Elliott and “It’s Like That” by Mariah Carey.

The New York-born rapper was more famous in England than in the United States. His 2003 track “Be Faithful” was a number-one hit there, and he appeared in multiple reality TV Shows across the pond.

He was also featured in multiple episodes of The Boondocks cartoon.

RIP.
