Tyler, The Creator was extremely critical of some of Eminem’s mid-career projects, leading to bad feelings between the two.

Despite Tyler’s pointed words, he’s always said Em is one of his rap heroes.

He reiterated that in a chat with Mav Carter, explaining that after seeing a documentary about opioids, he realized his criticism of Em’s Recovery album was way off base.

“I felt so bad about the Tweets and things like that because thinking from his perspective somebody like me saying those things and him getting off drugs and getting clean and getting to that point in life when that’s behind him and me implying … he probably felt like I was attacking him.  I thought I was like I just don’t like the music.  He was in a different part of his life and probably felt like I was attacking him.  And now I feel so bad about saying that stuff, and my perspective was so limited. And I love him, that dude taught me how to rap. I learned to put words together in rhythm because of some of the Eminem stuff that I was hearing … I felt so terrible about some of the stuff I said about the Recovery album.”
