Megan Thee Stallion has responded to a lyric from Drake and 21 Savage’s new album Her Loss, which references her being shot in 2020.

Megan Thee Stallion isn’t here for the mess. Drake seems to reference Meg being shot in the Daft Punk-sampling “Circo Loco” from new 21 Savage-assisted album Her Loss, which released Friday (November 4).

In the first verse of the song, Drake raps, “This bitch lie ’bout getting shot but she still a stallion,” which seems like a sly reference to the July 2020 shooting incident between the “Her” rapper and singer Tory Lanez. After the release of Her Loss – and being aware of Drake’s lyric – Meg hopped on Twitter and demanded that rappers stop making light of the shooting.

“I know I’m very popular but y’all gotta stop attaching weak ass conspiracy theories in bars to my name,” Meg tweeted.

In a separate tweet she wrote, “Stop using my shooting for clout… Since when tf is it cool to joke abt women getting shot!”

Meg has alleged that Lanez shot her in the foot after a July 2020 house party in Los Angeles, which Lanez has denied. Months later, Lanez was charged with felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm and for carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. In November 2020, Lanez pleaded not guilty to the assault charge and has an ongoing court case which goes to trial on November 28.

Meg last publicly spoke on Lanez in a July issue of Rolling Stone, saying that she wanted the singer to “go under the jail.”

“In some kind of way I became the villain,” she said. “And I don’t know if people don’t take it seriously because I seem strong. I wonder if it’s because of the way I look. Is it because I’m not light enough? Is it that I’m not white enough? Am I not the shape? The height? Because I’m not petite? Do I not seem like I’m worth being treated like a woman?”
