After last month’s release and high praise of ‘It’s Almost Dry,’ Pusha T has landed his first #1 on the Billboard Hot 200 with the album.

It’s Pusha T‘s time. On Sunday evening, the rapper celebrated his fourth album It’s Almost Dry going to #1 on the Billboard Hot 200. When Billboard announced the stats, Pusha T went to social media to claim his bragging rights.

Across the pond, Push also received his first-ever top ten album in the UK, landing at #7 per the Official Albums Chart.

It’s Almost Dry is reported to have moved 55,000 total album-equivalent units during its first week, also serving as Push’s third top five debut on the Billboard Hot 200, followed by his 2018 album DAYTONA (which landed at No. 3) and 2013’s My Name is My Name (landed at No. 4). Through a combination of physical album purchases, streaming and downloads, It’s Almost Dry marks Push’s first number-one on the chart, but it moved a slightly lower album-equivalent unit amount than DAYTONA, which boasted 77,000 total album-equivalent units in its first week.

Last month, Push spoke with Rolling Stone about the idea behind the It’s Almost Dry title and the album being a certified “masterpiece.”

“I’m always creating a masterpiece and in the creation of that in terms of a painting, you end up telling people while they waiting on it, ‘It’s almost dry,’ because they’re always asking, ‘When will it be done?’” he explained. “And you have to wait on masterpieces.”

He continued, “Also in drug culture, a lot of times you’ll have people waiting on the product and it’s not dry yet. You can come get it when it’s dry.”
