“Wasting Time” is the follow-up to Brent Faiyaz’s last release “Nobody But You” featuring Jorja Smith. Both singles might appear on his next album, Make It Out Alive.

Brent Faiyaz and Drake have linked up for an extraordinary summer anthem “Wasting Time.”

Faiyaz digs deep into his sad boy bag for the Neptunes-produced track. The release is his latest drop since his single which featured Jorja Smith, “Nobody But You.” The single artwork pays homage to Pharell’s 2006 album In My Mind. This time around, Faiyaz is unveiling that he’d like his significant other to carve out quality time for the two of them.

It’s obvious the singer is really into who he’s currently seeing, especially when he shares:

“If you’re gonna waste your time/Then waste your time with me/You can have all the space/More than you need/It’s no pressure, girl.”

Drake who recently revealed a few loosies himself including “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” doesn’t hold anything back. He unleashes quite a few verses about one particular woman that’s got him caught up. But, he also manages to throw in a few double entendres, here’s one: “Only time I play the back and forth is Aaliyah record.”

Here’s a line alluding to Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit:

“New piece around my neck, it’s chest games/‘Cause shorty stay with calculatin’ moves, like Beth Harmon.”

Towards the top of the year, Faiyaz shared the title of his forthcoming album Make It Out Alive during a Vogue interview. We’re thinking “Wasting Time” and “Gravity” will definitely be on this release once it arrives. On “Wasting Time” Drake teases what fans have been patiently waiting to hear on his upcoming album Certified Lover Boy. At the moment, there’s no release date for Certified Lover Boy or Make It Out Alive
