There’s been a lot of talk about J. Cole’s new album The Off Season. It started when Dreamville artist Bas said it was dropping in a couple of weeks. Then Cole released the cover art and said the LP would be released on May 14.

Now,  there’s even more excitement surrounding the project after the North Carolina rapper dropped an interlude to a song where he paid homage to Nipsey Hussle and Pimp C.

“Dead bodies, smell the odor in the street / My homie, homie got out on parole / He sold more Coca-Cola than the soda in the street / Summertime, bring the cold, this winter breeze / Hella blues like the rolling sixties / Christ went to heaven, age thirty-three / And so did Pimp C, and so did Nipsey,” spit Cole.

Does this interlude raise your level of anticipation for The Off Season?
