Benny The Butcher Dispels Rumors of Griselda Tensions

In a recent interview, the Buffalo rapper addressed speculation over the lack of Griselda features on his new album, The Plugs I Met 2.
Earlier this month, Benny The Butcher delivered a sequel to his breakout The Plugs I Met EP.
Produced exclusively by Harry Fraud, the nine-track project featured appearances from 2 Chainz, Fat Joe, French Montana, the late Queens rapper, Chinx, and Rick Hyde (of Bennyâs Black Soprana Family collective.) However, fans pointed out a suspicious absence of any fellow Griselda Records rappers. Naturally, the rumor mill ran with it, speculating over the potential tension amongst their ranks.
But in a new interview with Bootleg Kev, the Tana Talk rapper caps the conspiracies, dispelling the conjecture surrounding the lack of Griselda features on his latest tape. âI donât know what people be thinking. Theyâd rather push that narrative,â Benny tells Kev in the latest episode of The Bootleg Kev Podcast. He goes on to describe how whenever he hears chatter about the Griselda roster distancing themselves from one another, he wonât even mention it to the other rappers, insisting fans should cool out and maybe look at Griselda Records as a label instead of a group, pointing to Dipset as a more appropriate model. âItâs nothing more than n**gas working on their own shit, doing their own thing,â the rapper concludes.
Elsewhere in the interview, the Buffalo rapper admitted (and Kev confirmed,) he had discussed recording a collaborative project with Freddie Gibbs as recently as the rapperâs âIâm undefeated in courtâ Grammys party. And when asked if heâd do it with a single producer, Benny is adamant about his preference for Alchemist. Obviously, nothingâs set in stone just yet, but even without a joint project with Gibbs, Benny seems to have plenty left in the bag for this year. âIâm definitely putting something out by the end of the year. Thatâs why I had to get [The Plugs I Met 2] out because Iâm on my way again,â the rapper notes before teasing a stashed Drake collaboration.
