Hopefully, this means that the group is prepping to release new music. The jazz-funk band has released two albums: their debut Tawk Tomahawk (2012) and its follow-up, Choose Your Weapon (2017). In a 2018 interview with Triple J, bandleader Nai Palm had offered an updated on their next album, saying at the time: “The stuff we’ve come up with is so gorgeous, definitely an evolution. Hopefully going to have it done by the end of the year. We’re just allowing ourselves the luxury of sinking into it, as far as studio time, putting in the groundwork to make it as beautiful as we want.”

In related news, Flying Lotus was nominated for Producer of the Year for his work on Thundercat’s latest album, It is What It Is, at this year’s Grammys. Although FlyLo didn’t end up with the win, Thundercat ended up winning the award for Best Progressive R&B album.
