The eight-year-old retroactively received a Grammy nod from The Recording Academy.

The Carter Family officially has another Grammy nominee in their ranks.

According to an update on The Recording Academy’s website, Blue Ivy Carter is nominated for “Best Music Video,” alongside her mother, Beyoncé, for the visual to “Brown Skin Girl,” which appears on the singer’s 2019 album, The Lion King: The Gift. The update also retroactively nominated fellow Beyoncé collaborator, WizKid, but falls short of extending a nod to SAINt JHN, who contributed vocals to the song. Blue Ivy appears throughout the treatment and her voice bookends the video, which also features cameos from Lupita Nyong’o, Kelly Rowland, and Naomi Campbell.

Should the video win, Blue Ivy, at eight years old, would be amongst the youngest to ever take home a Grammy as a featured artist, tying Leah Peasall, who walked away with the award for “Album of The Year” for her contribution to the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack in 2001. Though it’s likely favored, “Brown Skin Girl” will contend against Future and Drake’s “Life is Good,” Anderson .Paak’s “Lockdown,” Harry Styles’ “Adore You,” and Woodkid’s “Goliath,” in the category. And while it’s Blue’s only nod this year, her mother’s up for eight more awards at the 2021 Grammy ceremony, including “Song of The Year,” “Best R&B Performance,” and “Record of The Year” (twice.)

Watch the video for “Brown Skin Girl” below and tune in to CBS on January 31st for the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards to see all of the action.
