Lupe Fiasco recently linked up with longtime producer Soundtrakk.

Fresh off the release of the quarantine-inspired HOUSE EP, Lupe Fiasco is back with two brand-new tracks. The TAPE TAPE EP is a reunion with his longtime collaborator Soundtrakk. The two previously linked up for his hits like “Kick, Push,” “Sunshine,” “Paris, Tokyo,” and “Superstar.” Stream the two tracks below.

According to a press release, Lupe took inspiration from artists like Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert for the new project. In a recent interview with Vulture, he spoke about Soundtrakk, who recently contracted COVID-19.

“My producer, Soundtrakk, caught COVID-19,” he said. “This is the guy who made “Kick, Push” and “Superstar” and “Paris, Tokyo.” Without Soundtrakk, there’s no Lupe Fiasco. He had it and was in a coma, and other homies who are super-close to me that haven’t said it publicly, but they call me, like, “Yeah, I got COVID, bro. I’m fucked up.” These are people I’ve done records with, and now it’s real for them.”

Two months ago, Lupe linked up with Kaelin Ellis for the HOUSE EP. The two linked up via Twitter, when Ellis posted a video making beats at his home studio earlier in quarantine. Less than 12 hours later, Lupe took the beat, imported the audio into Garage Band, and recorded the track that is now officially titled “LF95.” The album’s cover was created by Peter Gellatly, the late father of Lupe’s friend Sky Gellatly. Peter died of COVID-19, and Sky eulogizes his father in the HOUSE liner notes.
