The second half of the 2020 is kicking off with a few major releases. Heading into the Fourth Of July weekend, New Music Friday is highlighted by Pop Smoke’s first posthumous album as well as projects from Gucci Mane and Westside Gunn.

Gucci and K Camp have both dropped compilations featuring artists on their respective labels while Westside has come through with a sequel to last year’s Flygod Is An Awesome God. Also, celebrated producer Buckwild has delivered an album for any listeners in a need of a boom bap fix.

In addition to the new releases, Lil Wayne has provided a gift to his fans who aren’t TIDAL subscribers by re-releasing his Free Weezy Album on all digital streaming platforms.

Check out this week’s notable album streams below.

Pop Smoke – Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon [Republic Records]

Pop Smoke’s life and career were cut short when he was shot and killed in February. Before his death, the Brooklyn-bred rapper was able to record enough material for a new LP titled Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon. Executive produced by 50 Cent, the project gives fans another opportunity to hear why Pop was a rising star in Hip Hop.

Gucci Mane – So Icy Summer [Atlantic Records]

Gucci Mane has put his label drama behind him, apologizing for badmouthing Atlantic Records in time for the release of his So Icy Summer compilation. The album showcases his 1017 Records imprint but also enlists the help of some Hip Hop heavyweights, including Future and Lil Baby.

Westside Gunn – Flygod Is An Awesome God 2 [Griselda Records]

Just a few months after dropping the acclaimed Pray For Paris album, Westside Gunn has provided Griselda junkies with more music in the form of his Flygod Is An Awesome God 2 LP. Although the project doesn’t feature any collaborations with Conway The Machine, underground talents such as Stove God Cook$ and Rome Streetz are given a chance to shine. And don’t worry — the Griselda crew is still in the mix with guest spots from Benny The Butcher and Keisha Plum.

Lil Wayne – Free Weezy Album (Reissue) [Young Money]

Five years after releasing the Free Weezy Album, Lil Wayne has finally made it available to listeners on all DSPs. The former TIDAL exclusive can now be streamed on Spotify, Apple Music and more. Better late than never, right?

K Camp & RARE Sound – RARE Family [Rare Sound]

K Camp gives his RARE Sound roster a chance to bask in the spotlight with his aptly titled compilation RARE Family. “RARE Sound [is] the next biggest independent label in the world,” he tells HipHopDX.

Buckwild – Fully Loaded [Kurrup Money Ent.]

Legendary producer Buckwild recruits an impressive lineup of rappers to fill out his new album Fully Loaded. The D.I.T.C. member brings in Raekwon, Little Brother, Nick Grant, Meyhem Lauren, Fly Anakin, Rasheed Chappell and more to provide a heavy dose of bars on the 10-track LP.
