Tekashi 6ix9ine is back like he never left. The controversial rap figure made his grand return on Friday (May 8) with a video for “GOOBA” and set a new YouTube record for the most streams in 24 hours, smashing a record previously held by Eminem. But evidently, he wasn’t done there.

According to a press release from Create Music Group, “GOOBA” reeled in over 100 million views in less than 72 hours, making “GOOBA” the fastest video to accomplish the feat by an American artist.

“GOOBA” surpassed Taylor Swift and her video for “ME!” featuring Panic At The Disco! singer Brendon Urie and Ariana Grande’s video for “thank u, next.”

6ix9ine was granted a compassionate release from prison last month after presiding judge Paul A. Engelmayer deemed his asthmatic condition made him more susceptible to COVID-19. He wasted no time and quickly purchased a $300,000 chain, several luxury vehicles and a Richard Millie watch.

On the day “GOOBA” dropped, 6ix9ine also made his first public appearance on Instagram Live since his November 2018 arrest. The event drew over 1.9 million viewers, crushing the previous record by almost 400 percent.

But, of course, not everyone is happy about 6ix9ine’s return. Prior to the video drop, Meek Mill took several shots at the rainbow-loving rapper, comparing him to the “rat” who killed Nipsey Hussle. 6ix9ine promptly fired back and told him to worry about his newborn daughter.

Meek later vowed to destroy 6ix9ine for the culture.

“The internet got a witness in witness protection living in a town house that can’t even come outside saying check on me,” he tweeted. “I’m helping free people you putting family members behind bars…I gotta crush you for the culture you chump! How you sleep at night lol. We control the culture lol and ima set a example lol.”
