7 New Hip-Hop & R&B Albums You Should Be Listening To (Week of November 26)
This is the week the underground gets to eat. The best new hip-hop and R&B albums of the week features Remedy, Lord Jah-Monte Ogbon, R.A.P. Ferreira, and more.
It’s a holiday weekend, so of course New Music Friday is a little slow. There are no new hip-hop and R&B albums from any A-listers that dropped this week — which is fine, because this is the week the underground gets to eat.
Rap veteran R.A.P. Ferreira has released his second album of 2021, the Light Emitting Diamond Cutter Scriptures, under his own Ruby Yacht label. Longtime Wu-Tang affiliate Remedy has released a new album called Remedy Meets Wu-Tang. The album features appearances from Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Conway The Machine, Inspectah Deck, RZA, and more.
Standout Nigerian DJ and producer DJ Neptune just dropped his second album, Greatness 2.0. The album is filled with some of the hottest talent coming out of Africa, from Burna Boy to Davido to Mr Eazi to Olamide. And rapper and producer Navy Blue continues his breakout year. He has produced North Carolina rapper Lord Jah-Monte Ogbon’s new album, Beautifully Black. This is the second album Lord Jah-Monte Ogbon has released this year. As for Navy Blue, this is the fifth album he’s been heavily involved with in 2021, following Navy’s Reprise, Ankhlejohn’s As Above So Below, Akai Solo’s True Sky, and Wiki’s Half God.
